Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
Last Friday it was Children in Need day, so everyone in Lower School came dressed in Disney costumes or Pudsey, spotty style clothes and brought in a donation. The House Captains picked two girls from each House to go forward for the ’best costume’ parade which was held later in the day. Everyone looked great so it was really hard to pick out the best ones.
At morning break we had a cake and candy sale and lots of girls made amazing Disney or Pudsey themed cakes. The cakes sold for 50p a piece. We had many cakes so we sold them at lunch again. After lunch, we had the costume parade and the judges were Mrs Sloan, Mrs Paterson and Miss Barr. The winner was Jenna in P6 with her amazing Ursula costume. After that, we did the House performances: every House had chosen a Disney song and the House Captains and Deputies made up a dance. We had some rehearsals leading up to the day. Every House went up and did their performance on the stage and the judges picked the winning House - it was Argyll! So everyone in Argyll got a chocolate bar.
Overall, it was a busy, active and fun day! We managed to raise £533, which has been donated to Children in Need.
