Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Tuesday afternoon, all of the Primary 1 and Primary 2 girls met in their Houses to take part in our annual Christmas Art competition. Our Upper School House Captains and Vice-captains had prepared some wonderful art activities for the girls to participate in. Everyone worked really well together in their Houses, assisted by the Lower School Captains and Vice-captains. Ms Knox, our Junior School Art teacher, had the tricky job of judging the competition.
Argyll produced a pale blue Christmas tree complete with individually coloured baubles, Lyndsay used felt tips and glitter to make a large gingerbread man with a lovely border of glitter and Douglas used lots of cotton wool to produce a beautiful angel with a glitter halo. In third place was Moray who had a great idea; each girl made her own elf hat. In second place was Strathmore who used tissue paper to create a delightful cartoon penguin. The winners of the competition were Buccleuch who worked together to produce a wonderfully colourful Santa’s sleigh complete with presents.
We would like to thank the Upper School Captains and Vice-captains for helping us to have such a wonderful afternoon and Ms Knox for judging the competition. Great fun was had by all.
