Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
In the morning, we went to collect our nursery buddies from the Big Owls playroom. We welcomed some new girls from other nurseries too. We brought the girls back to our classrooms and told them a fairy tale using our handmade puppets. At break time, we played with our buddies in the playground. After break, one group went to the Fantastical Forest to do a treasure hunt about fairy tales and to put numbers in a sequence. The other group made fairy wands in one of the Primary 1 classrooms. Then we swapped over.
It was a lovely day and so we were able to have a picnic lunch and a play in the grassy part of the P5 playground. After lunch, we finished making our wands and then we made numbers using buttons and beads.
Next Mrs Hay read us a story in the hall. It was the ‘Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson. It is a story about a little snail that wants to go a big adventure and tells how we can help each other out even when we are different sizes.
It was a lot of hard work being very responsible and we were a bit nervous but it was an exciting day!
