As part of our GCSE Geography course, we stayed in Arran for three nights. We were very lucky as we had good weather for almost all of the trip. We spent our first full day in the River Chalmadale gathering data for our exam next year - this was great fun. On the second day we walked through Glen Rosa revising glaciation and identifying glacial landforms. We carried out a footpath study, measuring erosion to analyse the impact of tourism. The highlight of our day was eating local ice cream at the Arran Distillery, closely followed by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Tabby and eating cake. Our final day involved a Tourism study at Arran Aromatics and Brodick where we completed questionnaires among other methods. Overall this was a really good trip.
