Blogs and News - St George's School, Edinburgh
In Primary 3, we have been having great fun reading extracts from some of Roald Dahl books and experiencing literacy and numeracy activities related to the stories. Inspired by James and the Giant Peach, we have also been looking for and researching minibeasts.
On Friday 13th September, it was Roald Dahl Day. We all dressed in yellow, because that was his favourite colour. We did fun activities related to Roald Dahl. One of the activities was measuring with caterpillars estimating how long an object might be. You needed to find five objects and measure them with two caterpillar sweets. After that we measured our caterpillars in centimetres using a ruler. It was really fun and at the end we got to eat a caterpillar. We made dream jars showing our favourite dream and dream catchers. We put on virtual reality goggles. They took us to the Roald Dahl Museum. We didn’t really go there, it just looked like it. We all had a great day.
