Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Monday afternoon we had a Burns' lunch with the boys from Merchiston.
First, we did some ceilidh dancing which was very fun. Miss Collins called the dances for us. After all the dancing we went upstairs to have lunch. We had haggis, neeps and tatties. Two boys from Merchiston piped in the haggis and then Stella and Caitlin did the address to the haggis.
When we finished our food, the Merchiston boys gave us a toast. They read a poem about us which was really funny. Then we replied to them and told them how smelly they were! After that, we went downstairs for some entertainment. The Ceilidh band played and then we sang some Scottish songs. The boys sang and read some poems too. At the end, we went into a circle and sang "Auld Lang Syne".
Everyone had a great time and we had lots of fun.
