Blogs and News - St George's School, Edinburgh
On Friday 21st February, Lower School took delivery of three large book cases from Travelling Books with lots of new arrivals and favourites for children aged Primary 6-Lower 4. We also took delivery of a pop up stationery shop which had lots of fun items to choose from. We set ourselves an overall sales target of £600 for the week then crossed our fingers for luck!
The book fair kicked off on Monday 24th February for one week. All Lower School girls were invited to browse and purchase during their weekly class lessons, lunchtime break and after school 3.50 pm - 4.30 pm.
The girls had a wonderful time browsing through the cases throughout the week and many invited their friends and family to join them at the end of the day when school had finished to have a walk around, meet and chat with staff.
By Wednesday we had smashed our £600 target and were delighted.
We concluded our book fair on Monday morning. When all sales were totalled up, we finished our book fair on a whopping £944.20 for the week. Travelling Books give us 60% back in credit to purchase books for our library which is very exciting and gives us the opportunity to purchase fresh and current stock for Lower School girls.
A FANTASTIC RESULT!
I would just like to convey my heartfelt thanks to all parents/guardians and girls for supporting us with our book fair and assisting us to purchase new resources for our Lower School library.
With very grateful thanks to everyone for their support!
