Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Monday we started a new topic in maths, coordinates. We went outside and used a grid to play noughts and crosses. The unusual thing was that we used stones for noughts and sticks for crosses. It was really fun and, in the end, it was a draw. Next, we moved on to a treasure map that Mrs Sinclair had chalked on to the ground. There were all sorts of exciting things on it including an immortal jellyfish, an octopus, a volcano, sand dunes and of course a treasure chest! We had to find out the co-ordinates of each thing and some of the co-ordinates had negative numbers. Lastly, we went back inside and played battleships. Who knew that Maths could be so much fun?
