Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
P5X and P5Y climbed Corstorphine Hill on Friday 24 September to learn about trees as part of their topic on Scottish trees and animals. The girls had to try to identify all the different types of trees that they saw. It didn’t take long to get there as they walked from School, along Ravelston Dykes to the foot of the hill. They stopped at the top of the hill by the Tower and had snacks and played amongst the trees.
Some of the trees that they found were Sycamore, Rowan, Field Maple, Birch, Holly, Oak, Beech, Hawthorn, Horse Chestnut and some Alder trees.
The girls decided the best parts of the morning were when they were allowed to climb the trees, play with friends, eat snacks and play around the Tower!
