Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Saturday 4 February 2017, Iona and Honor from P6Q went to the Robert Burns competition, which was hosted by St George's School for Girls this year. Many other schools were there as well, so it was a big competition and had a very high standard. The three competition categories were singing, poetry and instrumentalists.
All of the poems and songs were written by Robert Burns. Iona and Honor entered the P6-P7 category. Iona was in the singing and the poetry competition and Honor was in the poetry. They both recited ‘Tae a Haggis’ and Iona sang ‘My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose’. Iona came third in the singing competition! She received a certificate and a book token. They would love to be able to go back next year if it is on!
