Boarders' Ceilidh with MCS

Boarders Ceilidh 660w

We left Houldsworth after 6pm on Friday 21 April and took a bus to Merchiston Castle School. We arrived at 6.45pm and waited in the assembly hall for the boys. The boys were wearing kilts and the girls nice dresses or jumpsuits. At first we had to stand in a line, the girls on the right and the boys on the left, then we had to walk straight across to find our partner. Then, the first dance started. Two men were playing live music and explained all the dance moves, for example where the girls need to place their hand and how many steps we needed to take forwards and backwards. It was so much fun!

After a while, we had a buffet dinner. Most of us sat with our dance partners on one table and had a chance to talk about school and hobbies. After having dinner, we went back to the assembly hall and started dancing again. The end was now near and the last dance was the nicest dance of all. At 9.30pm, we had to leave Merchiston and we said a big thank you for such a great night!
