On Sunday 14 May some of the boarders decided to take part in Race for Life in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Overall on that Sunday the participants managed to raise £90,000! The race took place at Hopetoun House and we were very lucky with the weather as it was sunny.
We were doing the 5K race and all managed to finish it within 50 minutes, which we thought was a good result! Although some of us found parts of the race quite challenging, we agreed that it was worth it. Hopetoun house has stunning surroundings which were very enjoyable to jog or walk through. The 5K included a nice pathway through the forest as well as amazing seaside paths. The race was very inspirational as many participants, who were all women, were running and supporting those who were touched by cancer or are still fighting it.
By the end of the morning we were all exhausted but extremely pleased with the fact that we took part in such an inspirational event.
