This is what Tatler Magazine have to say about St George's

"Three big reasons why this place stands out: it is the only all-through girls' school in Edinburgh, it's full of brain-boxes and it has a brilliant international take on things.

It's consistently perched atop the Scottish league tables, whether it's Advanced Highers (91 per cent A-B grades last year), or A-levels (94 per cent A*-B).

The Model United Nations Club is outstanding and there's an epic exchange programme, with pupils hopping off to the US, Australia, Chile and South Africa. The school also globe-trots digitally - think joint projects via Skype with a school in Philadelphia or poetry with Texans. The school has a dedicated 'Confucius' classroom, where pupils learn about Chinese language and culture, including cookery taught in Mandarin.

Down-to-earth head Anne Everest thinks internationalism keeps up the excitement. They are diverted by other activities too: joint drama productions with the boys at Merchiston, and clubs such as manga, forensics, philosophy, magazine art and CCF.

The small number of boarders have hit the jackpot with their snazzy accommodation and the sixth form have lots of freedom in the very chilled Bungalow, which is more uni halls than dorm. There's also one of the most inspiring careers centres we've seen - it's dubbed the 'futures room' and overlooks Arthur's Seat."
