Eco Schools in Lower School

Lower School Eco Schools Scotland

The Lower School eco group has recently been fortunate to work alongside the Rotary Club of Edinburgh and have opened a school orchard. Recently the Rotary Club raised money for the Lower School eco garden allowing the eco group to source and purchase raised beds so that girls could grow produce some of which has been used in school lunches.  The Rotary Club has also donated crocus bulbs which the girls will plant and tend. The bulbs will be sold in the spring to raise money for the Rotary Polio campaign.

In addition to the eco group, there is an eco and gardening club which meets fortnightly to carry out gardening projects around Lower School.  Girls have planted bulbs in tubs and there are lovely winter displays of cyclamen and heathers in the tubs around the buildings.
