Accomodation at St George's Boarding School

The Buildings & Rooms of Houldsworth House

Houldsworth House consists of two magnificent Victorian properties, which are joined together by a spacious common room plus a modern purpose-built bungalow for Sixth Form students.

The House has its own dining room, where girls and staff eat breakfast and dinner together during the week and all of their meals at weekends. There are a number of sittings rooms throughout the House and girls have comprehensive computer access in public rooms.

The number of girls in each bedroom depends on their age, individual needs and the size of the room. Primary boarders are typically in a bedroom for three or four, while many sixth formers have a single room.

Entrance to the buildings is protected by security code.

Houldsworth is situated among pleasant gardens, which in good weather are used by the girls for games and general relaxation. Barbecues and other events in the garden are popular features of the summer term.
