On 2 May, students from Primary 1 to S1 celebrated Eco Day in style! Dressed in green and ready for action, our young environmentalists engaged in a day filled with discovery and environmental stewardship.

Hands-On Learning

Junior School students enjoyed engaging workshops with Dynamic Earth, with our P1s diving into the "Puffin Detectives" session to learn about global warming impacts. Meanwhile, our S1 eco-warriors took to the streets for community litter picks, demonstrating commitment to reducing our impact on nature.

The school grounds transformed into outdoor classrooms:

  • P5/P6 students participated in nature scavenger hunts
  • Middle School classes constructed bird boxes and bug hotels
  • Primary students created beautiful nature crowns and explored minibeasts
  • P5 classes crafted fossils using salt dough, connecting to their Mary Anning studies

Environmental Education

Climate change education was at the heart of the day with workshops on rainforests, climate action, and celebrating environmental champions like Sir David Attenborough. A lunchtime sunflower planting competition brought students together to grow bee-friendly flowers.

The day concluded with an exciting eco-quiz in the Junior School Hall and an inspiring "Save the Planet" video presentation. Eco Day may have lasted just one day, but the awareness raised, and habits formed will hopefully last a lifetime!
