Sport and PE in St George's Lower School

Physical Education and Sport in Primary 6, Primary 7 (Remove) and Secondary 1 (Lower 4)

We adopt a sport for all approach, encouraging all girls to participate in and enjoy PE and sporting activities, regardless of ability.

At the same time, we support and nurture elite performers, with girls competing at the highest levels in regional and national competitions.

Each term has a full fixture list and teams regularly compete and achieve success in local and regional competitions, particularly in hockey, netball, tennis, and athletics.

There are excellent on-site facilities including a large all weather astro-pitch, MUGAs, grass pitches, athletics sprint track and an indoor sports hall to enable a wide range of sports.

Curriculum PE

All girls in Lower School are taught hockey, lacrosse, tennis and athletics.

In addition the curriculum includes:

Primary 6: orienteering, dance, badminton, netball, cycling and volleyball
Remove (P7): dance, volleyball, gymnastics and swimming
Lower 4 (S1): badminton, gymnastics, swimming and basketball

More sport is available every day and at the weekends, through the clubs and activities programme.
