Extras

Tuition fees are inclusive of textbooks, stationery, Junior School day trips and personal accident premiums. Examination fees charged by SQA, GCSE, AS and A Level exam boards are charged as an extra cost separately.

Deposit

A deposit of £300 should be paid as a final entry fee when the offer of a place is confirmed. Deposits will be offset against the pupil's account for the final term.

Parents who are not UK nationals and/or who are not domiciled in the UK are required to pay a refundable deposit of £3,000 when a boarding place is accepted. This is reduced to £300 for students staying for one term only.

Tier 4 visas

Due to the complexity surrounding applications for Tier 4 Child Student visas, we require all applications to be made with Newland Chase Education, a firm of immigration specialists. An additional cost will be incurred for this service. Please contact admissions for details.

All financial matters relating to the school are managed by Fiona Duncanson, Business Director, T: 0131 311 8000, feeassistance@stge.org.uk

Extras are kept to a minimum and in most cases, the termly fee is inclusive of all costs. Extras are charged for individual music lessons, after school and holiday club, English as a second language, external examination fees and some activities where an external instructor is hired. Full details of extras can be downloaded below. Most extra-curricular activities are provided free of charge.

Where three or more sisters are pupils at the same time, the third and subsequent sisters will receive a discount of one-third of tuition fees. A discount scheme is also available with brothers at Merchiston. Please note that the third child discount does not apply to Nursery.

Children of members of the Armed Forces are eligible for a 10% discount applicable to tuition fees only.

One term only boarding fees during the autumn term will be billed on a pro rata basis.

St George's is no longer part of the Edinburgh City Council Partnership Scheme for part funding of nursery places. Our School Governing Council has adjusted our fees accordingly to reflect the impact of this decision on our parents and we have made the decision to reduce the nursery fees to amounts close to the net amount currently payable after grant funding from Edinburgh City Council. We do accept Childcare Vouchers.

We have not made the decision to withdraw from the partnership lightly and we believe this is in the best interests of the children. We place a high value on the quality of care, support and provision that we offer to our youngest learners. To our minds, there is no substitute for high-quality learning experiences in the early years and we have structured our nursery in terms of an engaging environment, enriching resources and stable staffing ratios. We firmly believe that it is important for emphasis to be placed on the consistent quality of learning experiences delivered by qualified teachers and highly trained early years practitioners. If you would like to find out more information please contact our Admissions department.
