Music at St George's Junior School
Opportunities for music
Music forms an integral part in the life of St George's with an emphasis in the Junior School of it being inclusive and practical, encouraging participation at all levels of experience.
The Junior School has its own music facilities as well as access to the Robertson Music Centre, and each class has two weekly music lessons with a dedicated Junior School music teacher.
All pupils from Primary 3 learn to play the recorder and girls can take individual music lessons where they have the opportunity to learn one or more musical instruments.
There are opportunities for our girls to perform in Junior School ensembles including recorder, strings and orchestra. Highlights include our regular concerts and musical presentations which are all inclusive and all girls are encouraged to participate.
The Junior School choir has more than 50 singers and they perform at events inside and outside the school.
