Our focus on the individual is paramount at St George's: each girl is encouraged in her distinctive talents and interests to achieve her true potential.
In the Upper School girls follow a blend of the Scottish and English curriculum which we call ‘Best of British’ complemented with a rich and diverse range of activities and opportunities, which we call our co-curriculum programme. High standards are expected of all girls and the individual attention they receive enables them to achieve good results. Examination results at GCSE at the end of the Fifth Form, and in Sixth Form in both Scottish and English qualifications have been consistently outstanding over many years.

Student welfare is a strength throughout the school. Girls feel cared for by both teaching and support staff and there is strong liaison with parents and guardians.
St George’s has a close relationship with Merchiston Castle School for boys in Edinburgh, and a discount scheme is currently available for siblings who attend either school.
International Exchange Programme
Fostering the understanding of the global workplace is deeply embedded here. Our extensive programme of overseas student exchanges for students in Upper School, with the USA, Canada, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, offers our students the opportunity to learn about other cultures.
