At St George's, we embrace and celebrate diversity. We go beyond mere acceptance or tolerance; we actively support and thrive on the differences among our students, staff, and community. Our school ethos is rooted in fostering individual growth and success. We value diverse perspectives and unique ways of thinking, actively seeking them out when selecting our staff and students. Inclusion is at the core of our identity, and we are committed to addressing any inequities that may exist.

We believe in upholding the principles outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which include the right to education, protection from discrimination and harm, involvement in decision-making processes, respect for personal identity, and the right to privacy.

Within our school, we work closely with students and families to address issues that are important to them. We have dedicated student and staff groups focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Student Councils play a vital role in shaping our policies and approaches, with students leading the way and collaborating with staff. They have the opportunity to make a real impact on our school community. For example, our Lower School students identified the need for a prayer room/quiet space, and through their initiative, the change they desired became a reality.

Recognising the challenges faced by young women in finding their voices, we provide valuable experiences that empower our students. Student-led clubs, such as LGBTQ+ society and BAME Soc, create safe spaces for open discussions. Our efforts in this area have earned us the UNICEF Rights Respecting Bronze and Silver Award.

Our ongoing DEI initiatives play a crucial role in maintaining a cohesive, compassionate, and reflective community.
