Academic awards
We believe that
every student deserves the opportunity to excel, regardless of their
financial circumstances. St George’s all-girls school in Edinburgh is
committed to helping students reach their full potential and supporting
families in their educational journey.
The school offers a small number of academic awards.
The school has no major endowments, but it is as generous as its funds will allow in offering academic awards and bursaries to those who cannot afford the full fee.
How do our academic awards work?
Academic awards are competitive and are a one-off award on joining the school. Because we want to ensure that financial assistance assists the greatest number of families who require support, there is only a small financial concession with an award. However, parents can apply for means-tested assistance to the value of 100% of the fees alongside an award.
Academic Awards are available to candidates applying to enter the school at S1 and S2. They are awarded as a result of a competitive selection process to candidates who perform especially well in their Entrance Assessments.
Level of Award
S1 - two awards of £250
S2 - two awards of £250
These awards are generously funded by St George's Old Girls' Association.
