Fearless and Free

Fearless exploration, friendship, fun and so much more. St George’s actively supports and encourages a truly impressive range of trips and visits, from Nursery to U6.

We firmly believe that these opportunities not only spark curiosity and enhance learning, but also develop vital life skills in a safe, supportive and friendly environment. The stories and pictures shared here offer just a small taste of the incredible opportunities our girls enjoy.

Outdoor Adventure and Curriculum

Outdoor education is a vital part of our curriculum, and all pupils take part in residential outdoor learning experiences in P5, P6, Remove and S1, travelling to inspiring destinations across Scotland.

In addition, we run a highly successful Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, with an impressive number of girls achieving Bronze, Silver and Gold awards each year—embracing adventure while developing new skills. Our Combined Cadet Force also takes part in a regular camp, where pupils hone their teamwork, leadership and fieldcraft skills.

International Travel

Furthermore, our international exchange programme is a unique and well‑established range of partnerships, developed over many years with schools around the world. Award‑winning and highly regarded, the programme offers pupils in S2 and Sixth Form truly life‑changing experiences in destinations including the USA, Canada, Chile, Australia and New Zealand.

We operate a clear five‑year trip plan, enabling families to think ahead and make the most of the many exciting opportunities available throughout their time at St George’s.
