Students should be in their form room by 8.40am, with arrivals no earlier than 8.30am unless attending Breakfast Club at the St George’s Centre. Afternoon school finishes at 3.50pm.
After School Care is available from 3.50pm. Students are supervised and can have a snack, relax, or participate in activities. Bookings are required a week in advance, and the fees will be added retrospectively.
Students are divided into different form classes depending on their year group. Primary 6 and Remove (P7) are each divided into two classes, and S1 into three classes. Classes are balanced to ensure a diverse range of abilities.
There is a wide range of clubs and activities (over 40 for Middle School and around 150 for the whole school) available each term. Participation is encouraged with good attendance expected. A schedule of activities is provided before each term.
Students are expected to follow the school uniform policy. Uniform details are available in the admissions section of the website, and a uniform exchange service operates in the Sports Pavilion.
Lunch is from 12:05–1:05pm (12:15–1:25pm on Fridays). The lunch menu is available on the website.
Middle School students must keep their mobile phones and smartwatches switched off and in their lockers during school hours. They may turn them on after 3.50pm when leaving school.
Homework is given weekly, starting from Primary 6. Homework times vary by year group, ranging from 30 minutes to 80 minutes per night. Assignments are posted on Teams and added to students' Outlook Calendars for planning purposes.
Boarding numbers are around 50 girls and are usually an equal split of British and international pupils ranging in age from 10 to 18. The whole school is around 600 pupils. Middle School students have always been represented in the Boarding House.
International students form an important part of the St George's community, and we welcome girls from all over the world in all-year groups. They bring with them a diverse range of cultures, which greatly enhances the overall culture of the school.
Middle School offers various leadership roles including form captains, house captains, and student council roles. Leadership opportunities grow from Primary 6 through to S1, promoting responsibility and student voice.
