Mr Rob Taylor, Council Member, St George's School, Edinburgh

Rob joined the Council in 2022.

He has been an English teacher for over 30 years and has been the headmaster of two independent junior schools as well as a housemaster at Wellington College and Registrar at Harrow School. He has been Headmaster at Cargilfield School since 2014. He has previously been a governor of two independent schools in England, including a girls’ school in Surrey.

Rob is married to Sarah who was born and brought up in Edinburgh (attending another girls’ school!) They have three children.

He enjoys all sport, hill walking and wild swimming and is developing a keen interest in history.
