Mrs Lynda Johnstone MRICS, Council Member, St George's School, Edinburgh

Lynda is the Global Director of Estates & Facilities at Heriot-Watt University and has a broad portfolio of responsibilities managing an international team across the University’s five campuses in Scotland, Dubai, and Malaysia. In addition to the Research Park at Riccarton she has responsibility for all facilities management, real estate, capital projects and Oriam, Scotland’s national sports performance centre.

Since joining HWU, she has led multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the new learning, teaching and research buildings, the National Robotarium and the acquisition, design process and delivery of the new Dubai campus.

Prior to joining higher education, Lynda had 25 years of experience working client side in the private sector at BAE Systems, Hemingway Properties, and IM Properties successfully building and managing large property portfolios.

In her personal life she moved to the country recently and now spends her weekends training her new puppy, walking and gardening. She also loves travelling and is slowly ticking off a lengthy list of places to visit.
