A Perfect Send-off for Lansdowne

What a wonderful day we had for our Lansdowne Legacy Party! The good weather smiled upon us as guests lounged in the sunshine, enjoying the music and company throughout the afternoon - just missing the rain!
The dinosaur bouncy castle proved to be a hit with our youngest visitors, whilst a couple of our social committee members looked fabulous with wine glasses in hand, making the most of the glorious afternoon. Our current girls enjoyed one final play on the equipment, with some of the older pupils sneaking into out-of-bounds areas for one last look around their beloved school.
Traditional games kept everyone entertained, whilst the silent disco in the darkness of the hall had people throwing shapes with glowing headsets - a perfect escape from the heat!
The ice cream van queue grew longer and longer as the sun stayed out, and we hope everyone managed to get their hands on some St George's merchandise (a tea towel or two?) to remember the day. Our Middle School Choir's performances were a particular highlight, including a rousing rendition of the old school song.
It was particularly moving to see visitors poring over the archives, and wonderful to welcome some of our older alumnae who remember teaching and studying at Lansdowne in previous decades.
It was an utterly fitting farewell to our Lower School, old boarding house, and such a heartfelt part of our community for so long.
