Author Visit: Anna James & Elle McNicoll In Conversation
Our Senior Librarian, Chloe Elder, has organised a fantastic author event, ‘Anna James & Elle McNicoll: In Conversation’ at St George’s School, Edinburgh. This is a ticketed event from 4pm on Wednesday 22 February in the Lower School. Please use the Eventbrite link to book your place by Monday 20 February.
Chloe writes "We think this will be of particular interest to families of P5-S2 children but all ages are welcome. (Yes, I - an adult - am a huge fan of their books!)". It's sure to be a treat!
Anna and Elle will present 'In Conversation' about their novels and their experience as authors, followed by a Q&A session. Hot drinks and biscuits will be available from 4pm in the Lower School Library with a start time of 4.30pm in the Lower School Hall.
Anna James is the best-selling author of the Pages & Co. series, now published in 25 countries, which has featured in our Remove Reading Challenge for the last three years. Anna is also the school’s Patron of Reading, supporting students across the school in their reading and creative writing since Autumn 2021.
Elle McNicoll is a best-selling and award-winning author who advocates for better representation of neurodiversity in publishing. Her debut novel, A Kind of Spark, won the Blue Peter Book Award and the Overall Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, as well as Blackwell’s Book of 2020. It is currently being adapted for CBBC series coming 2023. Her other books include Show Us Who You Are and Like a Charm and its upcoming sequel Like a Curse.
This is an amazing opportunity for students to hear from two inspirational authors. Furthermore, you can use this opportunity to connect with your young readers and encourage a shared love of reading. You may want to purchase books that afternoon from a selection provided by The Edinburgh Bookshop. There is no obligation to buy a book, and anyone may bring in their own copies for signing.
We are looking forward to it! Hope to see you there.
