Game, Set, Family! Judy Murray Brings Wimbledon Magic to St George's

Family Tennis Day with Judy Murray Wimbledon-style!

We were delighted to host a Family Tennis Day with Judy Murray on Saturday 21 June with over 80 families from across Edinburgh taking part.

Judy: “I've always been a huge believer in family sport because my parents did such a wonderful job with me and my brothers of fostering a love of being active and outdoors. I passed that love on to my kids and one of my most rewarding roles is delivering Family Tennis where parents take part with their kids. If a child starts engaging in a sport or physical activity, the parent is usually the first port of call to play with them. So if we can show parents how to develop skills for tennis through fun play activities at home, in the park or even at a tennis club, we have way more chance of tennis becoming part of their children’s lives. Making starter tennis fun and doable in an encouraging environment is crucial. So days like Saturday's Family Tennis Day at St George’s School was a fantastic way of showing parents and kids from local communities across Edinburgh how to get started."
