Maths Challenge Regional Final

On the 17th March, four St George’s students competed in the UKMT Team Maths Challenge Regional Final at Loretto. The Team Maths Challenge (TMC) promotes mathematical dexterity, teamwork and communication skills. It also gives S1, S2 and S3 students the opportunity to compete against students from other schools in their region.

‘I took part with a team of two S3s and two S2s. The day involved four different rounds, including the Team Question Round, a challenging Maths Crossword, a fast-paced Head-to-Head round, and finishing with the Relay. Each round tested our problem-solving, teamwork and speed in different ways, and it was really fun working together under pressure. 

Although we didn’t place overall, we did well and learned a lot from the experience. It was a great day out and a really enjoyable challenge.’ – Isla, S3
