May 2025 Houldsworth House Roundup

Making a Splash for Mental Health
Our brave boarders have been taking the plunge this month, participating in the USC Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for mental health. The Houldsworth clothesline has had lots of soggy socks hanging out as our students proudly support this worthy cause. Their enthusiasm (despite the chill!) demonstrates our community's commitment to important social issues.
New Feline Friends at Houldsworth
Exciting news from our local feline community! Sassy, Houldsworth's beloved neighbourhood cat, has welcomed five adorable kittens to her family earlier this month. With 20 tiny paws and 90 toe beans between them, these bundles of fluff have captured everyone's hearts. Our boarders have thoroughly enjoyed watching the kittens grow while they await their forever homes. The daily dose of cuteness has been a wonderful stress-reliever during exam season!
Creative Sundays at Pottery Cafe
Sunday adventures continue to be a highlight for our Houldsworth residents, with the Pottery Café in South Queensferry remaining a firm favourite. Students have been spoiled for choice with the cafe's extensive selection of pottery pieces and paint colours. From mugs to ornaments, our budding artists never tire of creating unique masterpieces to take home.
Sunshine and S'mores
Houldsworth has been making the most of the gorgeous weather! Breakfast moved outdoors, the boarders enjoyed lawn games under the sun, and some even managed to catch a tan. The fun continued into the evening with pizza around the fire pit, toasted marshmallows, and plenty of campfire shenanigans. These moments of connection remind us all what makes boarding house life so special.
