On the 29th May this year, the winners of awards in the Scottish Maths challenge took a trip to Edinburgh Napier University. We set off from school and travelled in the school minibus to the university, located in Sighthill. After the journey in the hot minibus, we arrived to see other schools, waiting to enter the building. When walking in, I was amazed to see the colours that greeted us, the staircases leading up to lecture halls, and the cafeteria. We continued up a flight of stairs to register and then proceeded into one of the lecture halls.

Taking our seats, we observed the other schools around us, then sat to listen to Chris Smith, who made us sing about Maths (the hits were the PiMCA and Use a Ruler). This year was a special anniversary for the Scottish Maths Challenge, as it has now run for fifty yers!

After the 5 minute break, we started with the award ceremony, different schools going up and receiving their awards individually. We were really proud to achieve our awards, as we worked really hard for this. We all took a picture with our awards, then left in the hot minibus once more to return back to school.

Awards:

Silver: Alice, Rose, and Keira
Bronze: Lucy,Rebecca, Prishaa, Lorelei and Gigi
