Stepping Back to 1897: P3 Visits the Victorian Schoolroom

As part of our Victorians topic, on Tuesday 13 May, our P3 learners travelled back in time to 1897 at the Victorian Schoolroom. While we were there, the girls took part in a Victorian-style lesson which covered the 'Three Rs' - reading, writing and arithmetic. The Victorian teachers expected high standards for behaviour in the class and the girls met these perfectly.

The trip truly allowed the class to bring their learning to life and step into the shoes of a Victorian child. The hands-on experience with Victorian school items such as slate pencils and slates, dipping pens and inkwells, and participating in a Victorian-style lesson was a fantastic, captivating experience. The girls had a wonderful time and fully embraced all aspects of the experience by fully immersing themselves in the lesson.
