Lisa Nettleton

Head of Junior School and Nursery

Lisa began her teaching career in South Lanarkshire Council in August 2006 before accepting the position of primary classroom teacher at Clifton Hall School in Edinburgh. In February 2009 she joined the primary teaching staff at St George’s and has since taught in a range of year group stages across the junior school.

In addition to her teaching commitments at St George’s, Lisa has fulfilled several additional positions of responsibility and places strong importance on enhancing teaching and learning opportunities for all. Her additional roles have been Whole School Eco Coordinator, Whole School Literacy Coordinator and Junior School Curriculum Leader. These roles have allowed Lisa to add value to the existing strong school curriculum through the organisation of numerous events and initiatives. In April 2014, she was awarded professional recognition by the GTCS for her efforts in Learning for Sustainability.

In addition, Lisa has led and coordinated successful whole school applications to the environmental organisation Eco Schools Scotland which have resulted in St George’s twice achieving Green Flag status, the highest available level of award.
