Leading with Innovation: From Digital Excellence to Global Learning
A group of our S1 students proudly showing their certificates—well done to the whole year group, who have all received theirs too!
Innovation abounds at St George’s and is shown in different ways across school, most recently in our receipt of Microsoft Showcase School status for 2025-2026. With this status we have joined fewer than 1000 schools worldwide in an elite group, and are the only independent school in Scotland, that demonstrates a pioneering commitment to enhancing learning through the use of digital technology and preparing students for their future.
Recognised for our work with digital learning, receipt of our fifth International School Award demonstrates further external acknowledgement of our ongoing commitment and ingenuity in another area that lies at the heart of our school strategy. From digital to physical exchanges, teaching student visits from all the over the world and international trips and expeditions that enhance students’ cultural awareness, we continue to build our relationships across the globe and are excited by our plans for the next three years.
To continue the international theme, what do the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Great White Shark and Macaroons have in common? They are some of the topics that reflect innovation by this year’s S1, who have just received their certificates for completion of the ISEB Project Qualification Award (iPQ) last session: with a 100% pass rate and 70% receiving a merit or above. St George’s is the only school in Scotland to offer this innovative qualification for younger students: externally assessed, the iPQ award reflects our commitment to independent learning and the importance of giving students the opportunity to pick, research, present and reflect on a subject they feel passionate about, while honing their project management skills.
