"I’ve always been fascinated by physics and space, but initially thought it might be too challenging to pursue as a career. However, my teachers at St George’s inspired me to believe in my abilities. A school visit to CERN in Geneva gave me the final push to aim for physics, as I saw firsthand how physics is applied outside the classroom. Taking part in a Space Design competition in London was another highlight. It taught me valuable teamwork skills and offered a glimpse of working in a physics-related field. Now I’m excited to study physics (or possibly physics with astronomy) at university. Away from study, I’ve particularly enjoyed CCF and its summer residential camp and training alongside Merchiston School; as well as helping to launch the Big Sister Club club where younger girls can come to us for advice or just to chat.”
