"My time at St George’s has been shaped in ways I never expected. Biology is the subject that makes the most sense to me – but my passion for infectious diseases and microbiology only clicked in this year. The encouragement from my teachers helped me realise it was worth pursuing further: in particular, my Biology teacher created an engaging learning environment and consistently supported me. Outside the classroom, I participated in the Biology Olympiad, as part of the school’s enrichment programme, and attended a programme on human biology at the Roslin Institute. I’m also part of STEM Society and a Young STEM leader where I introduce younger pupils to the world of STEM, helping them understand its importance and how to get involved. Now, thanks to the personalised careers advice at St George’s, I’m excited about what’s next. I’ve applied for five different Biology-related university courses, and confident I’m heading in the right direction."
