Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
It was touch and go this morning as to whether our junior school sports afternoon would go ahead today, but fortunately, the rain stopped, the grass dried out and the sun shone (between the clouds).
The playground was a sea of colour as the girls from P1-5 gathered in their Houses wearing their house t-shirts.There were lots of different activities and races from individual potato races and sack races, to house relay races. The girls were covered in stickers in recognition of their achievement and participation. The P4 and P5 girls took part in championship events, such as high jump, long jump, running races and javelin throwing. Much fun was had by all!
Well done to the following girls for being the overall champions in P5.
All of the house points gained throughout the afternoon in individual and team events were added up and the winners declared:
Well done to everyone!
A very big thank you to the PE staff for a fantastic afternoon.
Also thank you to Ms Imlah and her team for supplying tea, coffee and strawberry tarts for the parents and ice cream for the girls. Thank you to the parents for their generous donations towards these. The proceeds for this will go towards our playground fund.
