Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
The first week back in Nursery has been full of fun, laughter and making new friends. The children have been welcomed into their new groups by our teachers and there have been lots of fun activities already. We have been enjoying the last of the summer weather and have been outside every day. From blowing bubbles in the nursery garden, trips to the Junior School library and Fantastical Forest plus lots and lots of painting, our children have been having some lovely times already!
We look forward to having much more fun in the autumn term ahead.
Pre-School - Big Owls
Our first days in Big Owls have been busy with many girls settling back into the Nursery routine and others experiencing the St George's warm and welcoming environment for the very first time. Everyone talked about their holiday adventures and got excited to explore the different areas of the classroom! Remembering to follow the 'Golden' rules was very important! Luckily, we had lots of helping hands, listening ears, kind words, iguana voices and walking feet!
Our mornings and afternoons were full of songs, painting, stories, exercise and lots of outdoor adventures. The pans and pots in the house corner were on fire! The girls prepared a variety of meals and set up a very tasty looking table for their friends. But the cooking didn’t stop there! Have you ever tried grassy yogurt and leafy doggy food? Well, we have been very lucky to have a taste of this marvellous imaginary menu outdoors! On Wednesday a real tiger visited our classroom and brought a very peculiar looking suitcase with him. I wonder why he is here? What did the tiger bring in his suitcase? Let’s hope that it’s not the ‘Tiger Who Came to Tea’ or else he will eat up all our food! The fun will continue on Friday in the Fantastical Forest where the girls will have the chance to prepare a picnic lunch using the china set of plates and bowls and drink tea made on the campfire.
