Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
Last Friday the Ducklings went for a walk down to Café Culpamia on Roseburn Terrace. The visit tied in with our topic of road safety, and was a great way to practise what we’d been learning in a real environment. We used the crossing outside the school, where the lollipop person made sure we could cross safely. Listening carefully for any cars approaching, we remembered to look to the left, to the right and to the left again before stepping onto the road.
As we walked, we talked about all the things we could see and hear. We listened to the birds singing and tried to spot them in the trees, and we looked at street signs together as we came across them. Once we arrived at the café, we enjoyed hot chocolate, cold milk and freshly baked chocolate and blueberry muffins. Yum! After a well-deserved rest, we headed back to nursery – already planning our next walk!
