St George's Numeracy Guide
It is often mentioned at parents’ evenings that family members would like to help their daughter with their homework but they are wary of doing so in case they use a different method from the one that their child has been taught.
Download our set of methodology guidelines on how key Numeracy topics are approached here at St George's. It is intended to be used as a reference for parents and students of Primary 6 to Upper 6 for core Numeracy topics including fractions, percentages and graphs.
Curriculum for Excellence places great emphasis on the three key areas of Numeracy, Literacy and Health & Wellbeing. These skills should not be seen as subject specific but should be incorporated into lessons across the curriculum.
'Numeracy is not only a subject of Mathematics; it is also a life skill which permeates and supports all areas of learning, allowing young people access to the wider curriculum.'
