Development Programme Session
On Wednesday 14th November, the Upper 6 had a Development Programme session about building your impact. We learnt that first impressions are made in a tenth of a second and how important that is when it comes to interviews. We discussed the qualities that we desire to be remembered by, but it is not our intention that matters, its the impact we actually have on the interviewer. This impact is based on how we present ourselves; how we look, sound and behave.
55% of an opinion is based on the visual impression, only 7% on what you say and 38% how you say it. We covered the significance of posture, personal space, handshakes, non-verbal signs, articulation and role models. I can speak on behalf of the whole year when I say we learnt a lot and now feel much more prepared for our future interviews.
