Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
Primary 4 have been learning about animals and the classification of vertebrates and invertebrates. We have discovered that vertebrates can be grouped into five different groups: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and reptiles. Our recent trips to Edinburgh Zoo helped reinforce our learning with a fantastic visit to the Education Centre where we were able to examine, in close detail, different body coverings, the kinds of babies different vertebrates have and how they breathe. Highlights were being able to handle some of the animals including a corn snake, a close look at a White's tree frog and an armadillo called Inty.
