On 17 November, I travelled to Cheltenham to play in the U13 Badminton Gold Tournament. This is one the five Gold Tournaments that are held throughout the year, and players from all over the UK participated. The tournament is split into two categories, the Gold and Gold Star. I was seeded number 1 in the Gold event. The tournament was played on the Saturday and Sunday. I took part in singles and doubles events and these were split into pools of four and two. I had some good singles games and won all of my pool matches and progressed to the semi-finals, which were held on Sunday. In doubles, we had to play three games - we won two of them and lost a close match to the number 2 seed, who eventually went on win the tournament.
On Sunday, I played my semis and finals in the singles event and won both of them comfortably to secure the Gold. In doubles, we were awarded the bronze medal based on a points system. I was really happy with this result.
