Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Wednesday 6 December, we had a Languages Morning with Roseburn Primary School and Merchiston Castle School. We were put in groups and each had different workshops such as Chinese, German, French, French music and Spanish. In all those workshops we were learning something about Christmas traditions in different countries. They all had three group leaders who helped to make sure the group was in order and to take charge of where they were going.
One of the activities we enjoyed the most was Spanish as we did some fun games to remember a part of the Christmas story about the baby Jesus. The part we focused on was the three kings. We had a game where we were in two teams and there were hidden pictures of things that happened in the story in Spanish. We learnt a song in Spanish that children in Spain like to sing when it gets to the festive time of the year.
One of the other activities was German and we really enjoyed this activity because we got to make advent calendars and learn some new words in German. This workshop was our group’s favourite as it was so much fun.
