On Saturday the Lower 4A and B teams played matches against St Aloysius’ College and the Cs played against Trinity Academy. The Bs started off a successful day for the Lower 4 hockey teams and dominated their match against St Aloysius’ showing excellent determination in attack. They enjoyed most of the possession throughout the game with lots of shots on target. The Bs finished their game with a 2-0 win, both goals being scored by Izzy! The As started off similar to the Bs with lots of possession and lots of attacking plays; they managed to score early on and settled into the game well from there. With short corners being introduced this half of the season the A’s did well to score during a couple of these and ended the game with a 4-0 win. The Cs played their match away at Trinity Academy; they took a while to get into the game and the first half proved to be more difficult than the second as both teams had attacking chances. However, in the second half St George’s girls ran away with it, scoring 4 goals and finishing the game off with a 4-0 win. Well done!
The Lower 5 A team had a very competitive match on Saturday against a strong St Aloysius’ team. The first half was very tight, with end to end hockey and both teams creating chances. St George's managed to score a late goal to go into the first half in the lead. The girls played some excellent hockey in the second half, moving the ball and taking all opportunities in the D. The final score was 5-0. Well done to the girls on a very strong team performance.
