Amy's Chinese New Year Talk

Yesterday, Amy, talked to the whole class about Chinese New Year. She spoke very clearly and we learnt lots of new things. She talked to us about how the zodiac animals were chosen and about how red is a lucky colour in China. Amy taught us that there are many ways to say Chinese New Year and that this year, it is the year of the Dog. We found out that people celebrate with fireworks, lucky money, lanterns and lots of yummy food like dumplings and fish. She showed us a lion and dragon puppet and some Chinese writing. She told us that many people cover their front doors with red paper sheets that have lucky messages written on them. Everyone loved Amy's talk and we all wish her a very happy new year! Thank you, Amy.
