Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
A number of L6 pupils in Physics have borrowed a radiation detector from the Institute of Research in Schools (IRIS) to carry out a project of their own design. IRIS supports schools to get pupils engaged in real-life research, using original data.
St George's has been given access to data collected from the International Space Station, in addition to readings taken on Earth, as part of a wider project called CERN@Schools. Laura Thomas, Head of School Engagement for IRIS, visited us last week to deliver the detector and give us some lessons on how to use it. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of project our girls come up with!
