Our first dance and movement class was a big success. The Big Owls loved skipping, hopping and spinning to the rhythm of the music.
Miss Arwen’s soft music inspired the girls’ dance and allowed them to focus on their body movements. During the dance lesson the girls had the opportunity to ‘put on a show’ for their friends where they had to do their own small dance pretending to be birds and fairies.
Dance and movement is very important in early years as it requires the body to know the natural pace and rhythm of movements. Through dance exploration our girls develop their gross motor skills and use their imagination to create dance sequences.
I wonder what dance moves you are going to learn on your next lesson. Maybe you will stomp, jump, wriggle and giggle together!
