Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
The Junior School Charities Committee have been very busy recently, preparing for our Harvest Assembly. At our Monday morning assembly they gave an important message to all the Junior School girls, telling them about Harvest and the Edinburgh North West Foodbank, the charity to which our food donations have been sent.
On the morning of our Harvest Assembly, Wednesday 26 September, the girls helped to organise the collection point outside the Junior School, packing bags with all of your extremely generous donations of food. These were taken over to the Upper School Hall and the girls then helped Mrs Hay arrange a wonderful harvest display ready for our assembly. We would like to thank the Reverend Graham from Murrayfield Parish Church who joined us in celebrating Harvest, as well as all of the parents who gave up their time to help!
Your support and generosity has been overwhelming and on behalf of the Edinburgh North West Foodbank, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all who donated. Your food donations will mean a great deal to a great many people.
